Do african Americans need to sell their soul to corporations to be accepted. I think the answer is no. However there will alsways be people of any race who will sell their sould to be accepted. So some athletes become big and do not go back to their neighborhood. Does that mean they neccessarily sold out or does it mean the just wanted to leave the ghetto world beind. They want to move to somewhere with less crime and better schools. A lot of black people in society say that athletes never come back to the neighborhood. They always focus on the athlete but what about the person who is a teacher or a lawyer who doesnt come back and help a neighborhood. Despite what high profile an athlete is the professional people who leave and do not come back would have more impact on the society if they did come back. Not everyone, actuall hardly anyone , in a ghetto is going to be a rap sar or a professional basktball player. A child in a bad neighorhood would have a better chance tp be a teacher or a lawyer or a social actiist. if these professional people would come ack they would help a neighbohood out more then a profesional basketball player.

I have just went to Germany in September for Octoberfest. It was a wondeful time. We met a lot of interesting and fun people. I agre with the writer. I speak almost no german but i did try to know a little before we left. When I approached someone for directions and attemted to speak german the people seemed a little more understanding. I guess they figured at least I gave an atempt to speak their language and just didn assume they spoke mine. It was good to hear because of his experience that hte writer was going to attempt t be more understanding of other cultures whe he returned home.

I think it is good he is getting his hair cut at an asian barber shop. Assuming the hair cut is good that is. By taking his children to the asian barber they are learning cross cultural ideas and expanding their horizons about other culturals. Maybe he could eventualy take them to an African American barber and then let the kids decide where they want to go. I do not believe asian know the significance of cutting black peoples hair or what a barbershop means in the black community. The are probably just business men trying to make a living. They wouldnt know the significance unless a black person explains it to them.
