Bringing the World Together One Question at a Time

Global Information Systems (GIS) mapping is an interesting and effective way to engage students in learning about the world, learn geography and study specfic issues.  As reported in the Blogspot mapz: a gis librarian you will find these excercises:  Sho’ah’s (שואה) Lasting Impact: Mapping Jewish Migration (from the University of Texas) along with Mapping the Afghan Experience in the U.S.  Exercises like these can be created with Google Earth.  These mapping exercises use what is call Web 2.0 technologioes that intergrate links to maps, and online resourses of Wikipedia and open source encyclopedia.
